IHM Discussion
This move gives Ferencváros a defenceman with both prior ICEHL experience and a strong recent offensive return from the blue line. Szabó knows the demands of the league from his time with Fehérvár, while his 23 points in Budapest’s 35-game 2025-26 regular season underline the attacking contribution he has supplied more recently.
The loan also returns a Hungarian international to the ICEHL rather than introducing a player to the competition for the first time. That experience is an important part of the profile Ferencváros have added, alongside a left shot and a record of offensive involvement as a defenceman.
Why It Matters
Ferencváros have acquired a player whose ICEHL record and latest domestic-league output offer clear evidence of what he has delivered at different levels. Szabó’s previous 114 league appearances provide familiarity with the competition, while his recent scoring from defence gives the club another proven source of production from the back end.
