IHM Discussion
Von Burg’s first National League appearances have arrived at a meaningful point in his Bern tenure. His contract situation places attention on a small but useful early body of top-flight work: two games, a 0.906 save percentage and a 2.55 goals-against average.
The new agreement resolves that uncertainty. Bern have moved to retain von Burg long term despite reported interest from EHC Biel, securing a goaltender who has only just begun establishing himself at National League level.
Why It Matters
The extension gives SC Bern long-term certainty around one of its emerging goaltenders. Von Burg has only recently broken into National League action, but Bern have already committed to keeping him through 2030 despite reported interest from Biel.
