Story Summary
Kärpät have reportedly identified Kiekko-Espoo centre Arttu Tuomaala as a potential addition, with Esko Seppänen saying the Oulu club are pursuing the 24-year-old forward strongly.
The interest may not be one-sided. Seppänen said Tuomaala views a return to Oulu favourably and as a possible next step in his career. A move would take the forward back to the organisation where he developed before leaving for Kiekko-Espoo at junior level.
Tuomaala has since spent six Liiga seasons with Kiekko-Espoo and has continued to produce this term, posting five goals and 13 points in 20 games.

IHM Discussion
This is a reported pursuit rather than a completed transfer, but the fit is easy to understand from the available details. Tuomaala is a centre in productive form, carries substantial Liiga experience despite his age and has a personal connection to Kärpät through his youth-system background.
His current scoring pace follows a 34-point season, giving the reported interest a clear performance basis. The potential appeal of Oulu to the player is equally notable, although no agreement, timetable or final decision has been confirmed.
Why It Matters
Centres who can provide steady production are valuable in Liiga, and Tuomaala’s numbers suggest he has become an important attacking player for Kiekko-Espoo. For Kärpät, the reported interest concerns a player with both recent output and a pre-existing link to the club.
For Kiekko-Espoo, Tuomaala’s form makes him a significant player to retain if the reported approach develops. The immediate facts, however, remain limited to Kärpät’s reported interest and the player’s reported openness to Oulu as an option.
